Decoded this almost flawless MFSK64 image.

Enjoyed the classical music afterwards also which was an unexpected bonus; WRMI is such a programming crapshoot every hour!

This week the Shortwave #Radiogram has been experimenting with MFSK data modes, transmitting the same image in MFSK16, 32 and 64 to compare quality versus robust reception in challenging conditions. With a sufficiently weak signal, you can easily see the slower modes held out better with images, at the cost of speed versus image quality. With even marginally stronger signals, the MFSK32 mode manages to look the best because of a sharper image. The show normally send pics in MFSK64 for speed.

So much fun decoding #shortwave #radiogram heard on 9265 kHz at 0030 UTC FR with a 1970 #panasonic analog radio with whip antenna and #decode with #tivar for Android from #downtown #indianapolis. Animated gifs of the process and the decodes.

This a-dor-able mouse (ahem) accompanied a text story on the importance of rodents to our ecosystem. Received from the 0800z Shortwave #Radiogram via WRMI 5850 kHz, into coastal Alabama.

Alabama's gulf coast is home to an endangered rodent: Peromyscus polionotus ammobates, the Alabama beach mouse. Only a few patches of them remain in the wild, mostly at the Bon Secour N.W.R. west of Gulf Shores.
