The results of 2023's third radio ratings surveys for metropolitan Australia (including Sydney) were released today. We very well could be seeing celebrations on tonight's news from KIIS 1065, with that station scoring 13% overall: It's the first time in more than two decades that any Sydney FM or music-based radio station has achieved this level of ratings success.

But the one I really don't understand: How is Smooth 95.3 outrating WSFM?

Putting aside the most obvious personal biases I have towards 101.7, earlier today I heard even more examples of playlist bizarreness from 95.3 including a Justin Bieber track sandwiched between a bunch of 80s songs and one from The Spice Girls between a couple of oldies! 😮

I can understand regional radio stations being all over the place with their music scheduling quality, but surely one would expect a leading Sydney commercial station to have a more focused or natural-sounding playlist...if any of that makes sense.
