Generic milk crate
Fanny pack attached to milk crate
Cooler bag inside milkcrate
Cheap pannier from a local thrift store
Zip ties to hold it together

Even though the pannier doesn't attach perfectly its been very sturdy!

I snapped a spoke last week, emailed #RadPowerBikes EU, and only got a response from a human yesterday. By which time I'd already ordered replacements from customspokes.co.uk. RPB wanted €3 per spoke, compared to 96p, and shipping was a fiver more from RPB! I know Rad are exiting the EU & UK markets, but I'm confident I'll be able to source replacements elsewhere.

Today was the first day in the year I felt safe enough to leave my rain gear at home. Silly me. I'll be soooaked on the cycle home!

Next jobs on the to-do list are to install the stock #RadPowerBikes lights into the motorbike headlight cases I've been sitting on for ages. (not literally, that would be very uncomfortable...)

I also need to figure out how to fit my old mudguards to the new forks.

Did I mention I got new forks?

@Andres4NY I've been running the trp hy/rd cable-actuated hydraulic since ~2015, great drop-in replacement for auto-adjusting your pads, maintaining consistent stopping power (the main flaw of mechanical brakes) while using standard/existing e-bike cable levers (looking at you #radPowerBikes)

🛞 Fat tyres are ace, having gone down hill in a very rough dirt track, their grip and handling are superb. On the main road where I live where the surface is very deteriated at the edges they just float over the patches where the last resurface has worn away.

Got bundled up and went for a 7-mile ride yesterday. I’ve got my clothing needs for super cold days pretty well figured out at this point. Allows me to enjoy being outside when almost everyone else is staying in! #rochmn #minnesota #wintercycling #radpowerbikes

In which this morning I rolled my 6001st mile on "Bigfoot," my Rad Rover ebike -- no thanks to #RadPowerBikes who couldn't give a dang about their defective frame, which cracked at the seattube weld on my 5551st mile back in August 2022 (they offered me a measly $50 gift card for my grief; I told 'em where they could put that BS).

It took 3 months to find a welder willing/able to repair the crack AND who frankenwelded a way to secure the seatpost inside the tube, thus preventing a recurrence.

Trying out a nicer seat and suspension post on our Radmission. Definitely smooths out the ride and makes it more pleasant. The path has lots of tree root bumps. I wonder how long since it’s been maintained? #radpowerbikes #rochmn #minnesota #wintercycling

@bikepedantic The one I'm riding. Her name is Matilda and she is a RadPower City Step Thru. I added a side mirror and more comfortable seat. The plastic milk crate on the rear rack was scavenged from an alley (and scrubbed thoroughly) and suits me just fine.

I'm sure there are bikes out there that get more battery range and/or are lighter weight but I am perfectly satisfied with this one.

Same spot, two and a half years and 5000km apart. The green #ebike got me through lockdown, beat traffic queues on the commute, and let me explore all over Galway county. The black bike replaces it, so it got the storage console and passenger kit.
