The "Rage Against The War Machine" rally may come to be remembered as the funeral of the non-anarchist left in the "USA". But the disease was terminal even before the current influence operation began growing tumors.

In the 90s, it was anarchists who kept alive the spark of revolution, finally lighting a fire in 1999. But maybe the origin point of last weekend's disaster can be traced to 2003, when the old-left attempted an anti-war comeback which disintegrated in a solvent of corporate media blackout, ANSWER Che-parades and Code Pink/Cindy Crawford middle-class liberalism.

The utterly bizarre trajectory of Code Pink tells a tale. Back in the day, their base of operations was a new age tchotchke shop in affluent Noe Valley. We can remember Medea's partner, interviewed on KPFA, singing the praises of "ethical capitalism".

Now they wave the flag of petrocarbon capitalism, as practiced by a reactionary warmongering mafia-state, and call it peace. Putin, Dugin and Prigozhin are the gravediggers of the statist-left; the only clear-eyed view of the liberatory horizon is the one which sees beyond the state

Typical of large rallies, people tend to show up at the location before the event starts. It's a sunny Sunday in DC and the lincoln memorial grounds and reflecting pool are deserted. I won't be surprised if this event has more speakers than attendees.
