Today has been a pretty good day. Brunch with friends, dispelled some negative energy and angst in a #rageroom , spent a little time reading #cyberpunkred , watched some #F1 pre-race testing and #DriveToSurive to get ready for the upcoming season, and finished reading #SomethingIsKillingTheChildren.

And then all y’all got to hear about it at the end of my day today once I got back to Mastodon to empty out my brain one microblog at a time. Good thing our wonderful admin upped the character limit on toots! :kekw:

Fortunately, I have one more decompression day in my weekend because I need to show my #SteamDeck and #xbox some love and check out the latest patches for #Cyberpunk2077 . Hopefully tomorrow is as good a day as today was.

While celebrating a friend’s birthday today, I discovered the magic that is the “rage room”. We had brunch at 11am and then headed over to a place called “The Breaking Point”. She’s been wanting to do this for a while, and so I’m glad I got the invite.

Don’t know what a #rageroom is? Well, let me explain it to you.

For roughly $38 US, you get to smash stuff for an hour in a mostly controlled environment. Bottles, glassware, plates, filing cabinets, washing machines, dryers, and more. You can even bring your own stuff to smash if you want. They give you a helmet with a face shield and ear protection, gloves, coveralls, and an assortment of pipes and crowbars. They have some tires in there that you can set stuff up on, you can throw it on the ground or at the filing cabinets, and you just keep smashing as long as there’s breakable stuff.

It was amazingly cathartic after the week I’ve had. Being able to take out my frustrations on inanimate objects and breaking stuff was quite the stress relief. I just bought a new standing desk for home, so I might “donate” my old glass desk if I can’t give it to a worthy home. If you have access to a rage room, I highly recommend it.

That same place also has a “splatter room” (where you can throw paint on the walls and at each other), axe throwing, and an escape room.
