the project rag rug is evolving. i wished i’d have more of that lovely yellow but i didn’t so im just loosely following the pattern while going through my rag bag. found some nice greens on my flea market tour so those are jumping in too. the hard part is to keep it flat as i am sewing it together by hand, lot of awkward work ergonomic present so it’s slow to make.

I'm still weaving shirts into doormats. I discovered yesterday that after a few rows it's good to pull everything down a bit because it will always compact more. I do try to compact as I go but it's not enough. #weaving #ragrug #recycling

I cannot stop it drawing in at the edges but I've reduced it. I'm not rewarping again, three times is enough. It's my first piece, it's going to be fine. And I'm extremely glad to see the last of those awful polycotton shirts. #ragrug #weaving #recycling

current project. braiding a carpet from a old sun faded rug rag i dismantled, just to discover that the rags are still very bright in parts not visible in old rug.

i’m sewing this together by hand with leftover sock yarn.

Finished my #RagRug!

Made from old sheets and t-shirts otherwise destined for landfill. This lovely psychedelic brain wobbler will adorn my bathroom floor for at least the next 20 years I reckon.
