On Saturday I will be playing in my first ever #softball finals game. Our #team, despite not winning a game all year, has made the #SemiFinals through the good fortune of there only being 4 teams in our comp.

I will be #pitching and some other infield position (hopefully first base). Not at the same time, obviously. That would be impressive! For a couple of innings each, I imagine.

We’re only playing D grade, it’s a lot of #fun, a bit of #exercise and many #laughs at our own expense. We’ve joked all season that we wouldn’t win a game, then win all of the #finals to take out the comp. It will be a miracle, given we don’t even all train together.

The age range for our team is mid 20s to early 70s, with yours truly somewhere in the middle. Half the team hadn’t played before, the other half hadn’t played since primary school. But this is what sport as an adult should be like. It should be a #RagTagTeamOfMisfits who just want to have a go.
