Looks like all the cinnabar moth caterpillars found this one ragwort plant.
The ragwort was not growing anywhere near where hay is collected or where animals graze, and was doing great work providing pollen for the soldier beetles and food for the cinnabar moth caterpillars.

First noticed a small number here about three years ago.
This year they are everywhere.
Ragwort - a much maligned #wildflower - is the larval food plant of this magnificent moth.
Delighted to see them thrive here.
