@masteremit Another sad story - besides the long wait for #railbaltica - is that trains between Riga and Liepaja - just the third biggest town of Latvia and only 230 km away - operate only on weekends. Which means that nobody obviously really needs this kind of connection, right? ;) It also means that you cannot use the ferries between Travemünde and Liepaja to commute to and from Riga and further.
The decision to NOT operate this line on a daily basis is a shame IMHO #failbaltica

The #baltic #european #railway news seems still a bit speculative at this stage (with #OTAN - #Russia conflict inside) but interesting to read about the switch to European #gauge of 1435 mm wide from the #Russian gauge of 1520 mm.
