I didn't realize it before, but I've been dealing with emotional exhaustion for a few years now. I had to ask for help, and a friend who answered clued me in.

I suspect many others are dealing with it as well.

Early on, it may have been just a shitty job to handle, but life events build up, bad news becomes invasive to our thoughts and suddenly we have no motivation and can't figure out how to handle all the crap that's going on.

I internalize this stuff, and yes it does and has affected my health. So I wanted to at least #RaiseAwareness for people who's lives have descended into the same kind of confusion and can't figure out what's going on.

As they say, knowing about it is 1/2 the battle.

So this is tricky.

I wanted to figure out how to follow a PeerTube Instance from Mastodon. It took me a bit but here's how to do it.

First, a quick outline of the architecture.
1. Primary PeerTube Site
2. Instances
3. Video Channels

This works a little differently than Mastodon. You can go to the primary site, or an instance and browse all you want, but you can't follow at that level.

So think of #3, "Video Channels" as people. That's where you follow. As long as it's federated, you can follow it.

When viewing the video catalog, you'll see the handle as the bottom link under the video. Click on that handle and now you'll see the subscribe button. Choose "Subscribe with a remote account", type in your own handle and click on "Remote Subscribe."

It will take you to a page that says "Follow [channel]". And you're done!

1. I'm tired. I'll bet a lot of you are too. I was previously a proponent of changing, improving, reforming established systems. I did previously have an eye on replacing some of them. But for me, now, it is only about replacing them. Nothing is being done at a level that would solve these problems.

2. We can rely on no one else but ourselves. We the people have to do it. We built this country and expected no rewards. We can tear down the systems that do not work and replace them with systems that do.

To do this, we need a modicum of effort per individual. We need to find alternatives and we need to #RaiseAwareness regarding those alternatives. 2/4

With the beating death of Tyre Nichols, something snapped. My last fuck was forcefully wrested from me by a network of organizations, institutions, corporations and even government.
