There had been a church on this site since 1720, and buried its graveyard are a number of Glasgow's Tobacco Lords, including Andrew Buchanan and John Glassford, who made a fortune from trading tobacco grown on slave plantations in what is now the state of Virginia in the USA.

Saint David's Parish Church in the Merchant City area of Glasgow.
More commonly known as the Ramshorn Kirk, it was built in 1824 by architect Thomas Rickman in the Gothic Revival style.
