In the "things that needed to happen but not necessarily during vacation": the oven is clean now. Thank you Ikea for selling ovens that have removable doors, with removable glas panes, and easy to remove rack/tray holders. And an easy to replace bulb.

Walking on the flat or downstairs in a floor-length dress is okay. You can subtly knee-and-kick the skirt ahead of you to move it away from where you want to step.

The same thing going _up_ stairs is much harder. You’ll probably want at least one hand for skirt-wrangling.

Imagine you’re carrying something - a clutch, a microphone, paperwork for the event - when approaching a flight of stairs up… and someone offers their hand.

Probably not helpful, even if the intentions were good.
