First 200 km permanent ride of the season, with @bensandee
It's a route I created myself, crossing the Sugar River multiple times and dipping into Illinois. Aside from two flats and some knee issues for Ben, the ride went quite well. We'll see what long distance challenge we're going to tackle next.

A couple of years ago I got into long-distance #cycling, in particular into #Audax rides (or #randonneuring).
I've done a few 200 km rides (two in March... I may have a hamstring tear from that), and last year my friend and I did 300 km.
But this May we plan to go to the next natural step: The Dauntsey Dawdle 400 km ride.
When I look to the map, my hands get sweaty, and my hr clearly rises!
Any randonneur in the room?

Sigh! Woke up early this morning, packed lunch & snacks, and donned like four layers of clothes in an attempt to ride a 200k. Didn’t even make it 30 minutes before realizing that my and my partner’s glove situation just wasn’t going to cut it for the 10-12 hour ride. (My thumbs were ice!)

Took the train home, ordered pogies. Hopefully Thursday we try again!
