All the #RapidBlock and #FediBlock sites are declining as the internet loses interest.
Now do #FediBlock and #RapidBlock. Same mentality.
If #Threads joins the Fediverse, its seventy million (alleged) users are going to swamp any other traffic.
On the plus side, we might get a new internet:
1. A walled garden for the consumer crowd
2. A "behind the gym smoking area" for nerds
It could be the best of both worlds.

Oops, your instance is #RapidBlock-enabled, so it is now domain blocked from this account.
Yes, because I do not filter direct replies.
The filters are also easily bypassed by acronymizing the term with periods or using extended characters.
The system is not designed for censorship... merely convenience.
In other news, I domain-blocked about a dozen #RapidBlock subscribers today.
Or maybe point out that instances which use #RapidBlock are fundamentally uncertain about what they project, therefore need censorship, which is why your instance is domain block filtered under #CounterRapidBlock.

As a free speech advocate, I have just domain-blocked both of your instances. #CounterFediBlock #RapidBlock #FediBlock

So, does anyone know why #RapidBlock is redirecting to a GitHub repo? What's going on, and what help is needed?
I have domain blocked mastodon.world because they implemented #FediBlock or #RapidBlock lists. If that has changed, I will liberate them.
I also domain block any #RapidBlock or #FediBlock type pro-censorship people.
Nah, it's the hugbox.
The Masodong folks went full-in for censorship with #FediBlock and #RapidBlock.
That sealed them off and made them a hugbox. They self-destructed the same way MySpace did: once you start censoring, the interesting traffic goes elsewhere and you are left with second-tier influencers and a clueless audience.
Nevermind. #CounterRapidBlock has detected use of #Fediblock or #RapidBlock lists, so your instance domain is now blocked. Bye Felicia!

Censorship just backfires in my view.
The #FediBlock and #RapidBlock lists enable lots of idiots to feel like they are "doing something" but it's more armchair activism that is harmful.
This is why #CounterRapidBlock was created to shut the censors in their own hugbox where they will inevitably self-destruct like MySpace.

In the meantime, #CounterRapidBlock has sapped the perceived legitimacy of #RapidBlock and showed people a good list of domains to avoid if you support #freespeech, the #openweb, or #opendiscussion:

@anornymorse @wjmaggos @coldacid
That, and I think #RapidBlock is already failing.
They walled themselves off into a garden which has now become an echo chamber and hugbox, which leads to the type of stale energyless repetition that we see on dying social media sites (and before them, on dying forums).
The people who are leaving the #Fediverse are the ones who wanted #RapidBlock and #FediBlock.
They are going back to their safe spaces.
#rapidblock #fediverse #fediblock
On the nose. #RapidBlock and #FediBlock are censorship initiatives and by censoring the censors, we stand against censorship.

What is #CounterRapidBlock, and why are #RapidBlock and #FediBlock so destructive to the purpose of the #Fediverse, the #internet, and human communication?

#RapidBlock is the censorship list that succeeded #FediBlock, and #CounterRapidBlock is the effort by some of us to simply domain ban any sites that use the RapidBlock list.

“Being willing to hear out other perspectives and engage in dialogue that isn’t simply meant to convince the other person you’re right can lead to all sorts of unexpected insights,” Fisher tells CNBC Make It.
