#Rashomon truly is a very entertaining, compact film. Clocks in at just 95 minutes and has a fascinating story that really moves. I can imagine a lot of people who won’t watch anything in black and white and haven’t seen something older than 1990 could get involved in it. Has a true modern sensibility that could easily have taken place in 1950s Japan rather than the feudal past. #Kurosawa was a masterful, one-of-a-kind artist (as if we didn’t know already!). #ToshiroMifune #classicfilm

Just recalled the end of #Rashomon: the woodcutter/thief wants to take the abandoned baby who he will raise with his six other children, but the priest resists.
Woodcutter: "It is inevitable to be suspicious of others on a day like this. I'm the one who should be ashamed. I don't understand my own soul."
Hearing his words, the Priest says, "No, I thank you! Thanks to you I can keep my belief in humanity" and gives him the baby.
