Finishing #Review: #RavenOfTheInnerPalace had a good balance of episodic ghost stories in a setting that is not very common in #anime. It also did a great job in developing its characters and their stories. Some reuse of animation was noticeable but the quality consistent and I liked the stylistic choice of using animated ink drawings for stories told by the characters.

The only sad thing is that it’s an unfinished story so I hope for a second season.

If that's the end of Raven of the Inner Palace it's been a really good #anime series. It's been such a strong season but it's been one of my favourites. I do hope there's going to be a 2nd series, but if not I guess I'll have to pick up the books. #RavenOfTheInnerPalace

It's so nice to have this week off. My new workplace just shuts down. I've worked between Christmas and New Year's Day for the past 20 years.

Finished up most my seasonal anime. #BocchiTheRock was amazing all the way through. Also loved #ChainsawMan and #MobPsycho100. #BeastTamer and #DoItYourself were fun and I liked them, but they didn't resonate as much.

Still waiting for the last #WitchFromMercury episode to air, and am behind on #RavenOfTheInnerPalace and #Arknights.

It will be very interesting to see how #RavenOfTheInnerPalace wraps up, presumably next week, after that episode.

Possibly the most interesting part of Raven of the Inner Palace is that it’s filled with Unreliable Narrators that don’t ***know*** that they’re unreliable. Word of mouth through generations, shifting messages, lost information, who even knows what the truth of the Raven Consort is now.

I think this episode is at least the third version and all of them have had some element of truth.

I’m always alienated when anime have a Chinese setting and Japanese voice actors pronounce the names with the Japanese reading of the Chinese characters… It sticks out since official subtitles usually use the Chinese transliteration instead, and sometimes it sounds completely different. Like in #RavenOfTheInnerPalace with e.g. Shouxue / Jusetsu.

Watched ep11 of 後宮の烏.

Jusetsu meets the apprentice at last!
Somehow she knows that he wants to kill her? I’m so relieved that the emperor is with her, so she’s not alone.
Can’t wait for the next episode!

Watched ep10 of 後宮の烏.

I have to start watching these episodes during the day time. Or else I get creeped out.
This episode’s mystery gets a happy ending, but in the end a maid dies? It looks like the maid that the apprentice was hanging out with. Could it be that the apprentice sacrificed her to bring back the dead? Like he promised the lady with the veil?

In the future, I have to stick to anime that are happy-go-lucky.
