@rc2014 @shieladixon I wonder whether anyone has thought of cataloging different #RC2014 setups and configurations / combinations of modules. Could be fun to explore what folks have built!
my #RC2014 Zed Pro arrived today and after a couple hours of soldering, i now have it fully working :3
PS:
If you just want to try the tool:
https://github.com/Stefanie80/CPM3_2063_Retro/blob/main/Tools/drvtool.z80
Build with ZMAC / LINK.
Option 1 should always be safe.
Option 6 is dangerous, especially if your drive is too fast.
It writes sequentially to a file, for exactly 10 seconds (Or forever, if there is no RTC).
If your drive runs full before that time, it just crashes.
The other options are safe but useless.
Any Comments or Suggestions very welcome :)

Say hello to the CPC Modular. This is an #Amstrad #CPC built using a slightly modified #RC2014 backplane. Not exactly an RC2014 due to Amstrad IO quirks.
Current status: video is outputting at correct frequencies but SCART converter isn’t detecting a proper signal. But that means CPU and ROM are working and configuring the 6845.
The design uses SRAM and modifies a few signals in order to do that. Im suspecting an issue in those circuits.

@anniethebruce yeah...
Basically it's been turned into some commercial product.
Amd whilst they can't opensource or share the BASIC & KERNAL they could at least not go out of theor way to prevent others from iterating upon it and buy that ROM through them legitimately.
The #CommanderX16 / #X16 thus is more a toy for #C64 & #C128 fans that want something they can easily hook up to a modern TV.
THE #RC2014 in comparison looks like an open architecture.beyond the ability to make expansion cards.

@anniethebruce also unlike the #CommanderX16 the #RC2014 isn't a proprietary, closed-off platform.
@anniethebruce isn't "#FuckAroundAndFindOut" the first rule of any #8bit #Kit?
Even before the #RC2014 or #CommanderX16 were thought about...

Got what I needed for my #Pinecil in order to feel comfortable with using it more regularly and fitted together another #RC2014 expansion card today, this time the YM2149 sound card.
Pin headers were a bit of a fuss as I'd found before; they're not quite as straight as I'd like them to be, but at least they're better than on my RC2014 Mini!
Also delighted that the sound chip itself seems to work; buying ICs that are no longer in production is always a bit of a lottery.
Beemo grew bored of my first day #rc2014pride #rc2014pro #rc2014 assembly of my kit. After I stopped him from trying to steal some resistor strips to help out.

It's ALIVE ! #rc2014 Good old Raspi400 to the rescue. Stupid PC usb com ports.
#rc2014 progress... power, good. Clock, good. Reset, good. Cpu and memory doing stuff but a3-6 running at 1v... hmmm.. backwards chip on the ROM module. Fixed. TX seems to be chirping something on reset up... Windows 11 refuses to add a COM port to laptop... FFS. Will probably build RP2040 terminal module now...
I've put together most of my #RC2014 Zed Pro Pride from @rc2014. By the time I got to the sublimated dye board mt soldering skills had improved enough that I didn't make a mess of the board.
I hacked at STARANSI.MAC to allow me to patch Xterm compatibility into all my mission critical CP/M apps. The source code for my patching program is at https://github.com/lparkes/CPM .
