We are fighting for 100% #renewable #energy since more then 20 years, despite of all nuclear, conservative, pro-fossil lobbys and governments.
The radioactive fuel in many #reactors is also #russian. Only #windpower and #solar energy is a cheap, decentraliced solution.

As for the fusion #reactors that already exist... well any #greenenergy is still better because it is cheaper and can be deployed in 12-18 months rather than 10 years.

As for peak demand, thatโs where #renewables and #battery #storage help a lot. A 1-3 MW reactor may actually allow the #diesel #generator to be decommissioned. #Integration with #solar / #wind / #batteries can be sized for peaking.
