i.e. your post won't show up in a search of a hashtag that wasn't in the original post. So if you realise there are some relevant hashtags you should add to a post, then you will actually need to make that post again from scratch in order for it to show up in searches!

In regards to you should always use (every word starts with a capital) or (first word lower-case, then capitals for subsequent words). Don't use (underscores)...

Here's a litmus test for code/ .

Can you understand the code a few days or weeks later when under the influence of a moderate dose of your favorite psychotropic agent?

If the answer is no, that's some bad news for your code/design as it is.

@SwiftOnSecurity is and labour.

Measuring a programmer's efficiency or value with easy like () or () doesn't work.

In fact the latter ones did that for so hard on the @linux / that they were close to getting from the and .

Instead they got called out that their "code cleanup" commits are not appreciated as code is being a priority in !

One thing that you can do to make Mastodon posts much more readable/much more accessible is to put your hashtags at the end of your post.

Trying to read text which is littered with hashtags and blue hyperlinks is an accessibility nightmare. Put links at the end of your post, like this, instead!

If you use BeeLine Reader and have an Android device, here's some good news. I re-tested Kiwi Browser with BeeLine Reader, and now it's 100% functional.

Kiwi is an Android web browser that supports many add-ons made for Chrome on desktop.

BeeLine Reader is a browser add-on that makes text easier to read by adding color to text. More information and download here: chrome.google.com/webstore/det

Having the whole hierarchy from your path up to the root in `path.parents` is extremely handy to iterate over. The path parts attributes like .stem, .name, .suffixes etc make for very readable code.

And IMHO, code like `path.is_relative_to(other_path)` is simply more readable than`os.path.is_relative_to(path, otherpath)`.

We argued about a CD pipeline rewrite. I wanted to introduce some structure into this unstructured 15-step process. He replied, it’s useless and brings complexity.

It’s / I was aiming at, and he said: we’re seniors, it doesn’t need to be readable by babies.

That baffled me, that’s something I didn’t expect.

Lets talk about code indentation.

I'm getting older 👴 and recently was prescribed bifocals 👓 . I was then modifying some legacy code using 2-char indentation. Looking at a full page of code, the code at the bottom "curved inward" ("progressive" lenses) and it took a disturbing amount of extra effort to determine which level of indentation I was in.

I did not have this issue 8-char indented code, or even 4-char.
2-char is just too damn little to make it obvious.

Big milestones reached in RateMyPDF.com this week!

- Background processing
- Convert Word files to PDF + auto detect fields (assuming you do things like ___ and [ ] to mark fields)
- Display accessibility details

My secret coding buddy was and I have to say, it makes coding fun. Not effortless, but removes barrier to getting started and much faster than tutorials + documentation.

I'm very excited our paper about RateMyPDF.com was accepted to International Conference on and in Braga, Portugal.

Going to incorporate reviewer suggestions and new features that we've built since submissions before sharing the paper itself.

Meanwhile, I've have been hacking on RateMyPDF to add more useful and suggestions. Biggest issue is supporting larger uploads. Integrating tasks and a job queue with is a new one for me.

Someone (or me) needs to make a good :rss: reader for devices.

I know there are scripts—or even the tool—that can download articles as , but I mean something more like:

🔔 List articles in a pretty interface with thumbnails (kinda like Kobo's Pocket integration), browsable by feed of course.

👁️ Read an article directly online (parsed through )

⬇️ Quick button to download a specific article for offline reading, and a special downloaded articles list
