There was a #readingmarathon of the latest #IPCC 6th Assessment report at #Wageningen university: staff and students were continuously publically reading through the whole week to create awareness for the science behind the #climatecatastrophy we might face if nothing changes drastically 🌍📖
There's currently a fierce public debate if the university should #cutthetiestofossilfuels. IMHO this is inevitable. We must prevent public institutions to lend legitimacy to this deadly cancer of our society and planet that the fossil industry is.
Even members of the university's executive board participated in the reading. One of them was disruped by #extinctionrebellion with a megaphone as some students feel that the board is not moving swiftly enough and just pretends to be concerned. They were particilarly angry as they feel the university board did not acknowledge #policeviolence that happened earlier this week when students occupied a public building.
