What people did before #readlater apps.

I find myself often forgetting that i have a bunch of things ready to read in my Read Later list. I already made shortcut on my Home Screen that pulls up a random article and I still don’t do it often. How do other people do this?

Habe mir heute mal @goodlinks als Read-Later-App gegönnt. Hatte sie schon länger auf der Liste als #Pocket-Alternative. Gefällt mir gut, bei Pocket geht mir der baldige Zwangs-Firefox-Login gegen den Strich.

That's my #Readwise account deleted. As I'm now using @omnivore for my #ReadLater app, and my other highlighting services having #Obsidian plugins, didn't really need to keep it any more.

One less subscription for me to manage. 🙂

Does anyone have a nice #workflow for channeling #mastodon bookmarks to #readLater services such as #Instapaper or #pocket? (that is, ideally the texts that are linked in the mastodon post)

What's your workflow for #bookmarks here at #Mastodon – or for #readlater? On Twitter, I used to channel my favs to #Instapaper or #Pocket and catch-up there (or not) (via IFTTT. But neither Mastodon favs nor bookmarks seems to work as triggers in workflow connection apps. Any pointers?

Does anyone use the #Pocket app as a general bookmarking app, in addition to being a #ReadLater app?

I use Pocket and @readwise Reader for articles and newsletters. I also use the #Raindrop bookmarking app (very good app) although I rarely open it.

@to3k chyba nie mógłbym się objeść bez czytnika RSS - Reeder. Wykorzystuje go także jako aplikacji typu #ReadLater jak Instapaper czy Pocket. #RSSReader. Dodatkowy plus jest taki, że od jakiegoś czasu nie trzeba korzystać z zewnetrznego huba RSS-ów Feedbin czy Feedly.

I am honestly not sure how I ever managed without a Read Later app - I use Notion for that - and why it took me so long to get this set up.

I used to glance over tons of online articles and blog posts and never really take anything in. So much to read, so little time.

Now I just highlight anything that looks kinda interesting for later and when I genuinely have some time for it, read it properly. As a result I probably read less articles now but more in depth.

I'd like to be able to organize it by topic. Something for Android, preferably, as that's where I read most things. 1. Tag selection screen shows colours on tags.
2. Tag selection screen sorts tags alphabetically.

Second item is particularly important, as of right now tags are sorted by usage [I think], and this makes me look for the tag I want to assign, which wastes time.

我通常的 pattern 是快速扫过每天的 unseen feed，感觉有价值、需要细读的丢进 Later，其他的则速读后送入 Archive

你应该可以猜到，我的 Later Backlog 积累的越来越快，而 Feed 一直是反复被清空的状态 = =
