@supaiku Yup, that is one of the models, along with the Northeast Investment Co-op in Minneapolis, that our main local #RealEstateCoop in Vermont is based on. But I should look a bit more into their building-level stuff.
Seeking thoughts on the use of a #MultiStakholder #coop model in a #RealEstateCoop context.
Basically, the RE #coop projects I've been involved in over the past few years are structured as consumer co-ops with the core concept being a "tenant-owned cooperative landlord". The main property management work is contracted out to an experienced company whose work is overseen by an elected board of directors.
I still think that's the most scalable model, but... 1/

The Livable #RealEstateCoop just launched in the Upper Valley, and is focusing on a model in which they develop and operate Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs). I spoke to the lead organizer early on, and am exited to see how their model plays out!

Since closing on the #RealEstateCoop deal at the end of March, I've had a #Vermont food co-op and a #WorkerCoop reach out about possible projects that could use the model.

Walked into the credit union today with the pile of checks from pledged members, and deposited $24,000 as the starting funds for the Vermont #RealEstateCoop. More is coming soon, and hopefully we'll collectively own our first property (a commercial condo that will hopefully be the future home of a start-up #coop) within a month or two...
