#Jailed, she lasted just over a year, until June 21, 2018, when she asked the court to change her plea to guilty.

After her guilty plea, she was sentenced to 5 yrs 3 months in prison followed by three years of supervised release.

She is still serving her sentence.

Thoughts on #RealityWinner

Reality Winner LEAKED that document to the Intercept. She did not have authorization to access that document much less declassify it at any point in her employment. She was arrested for doing this in June 2017 and convicted in August of 2018, over a year later.

And Reality Winner had over a year to make her case in court and lost.

Trump has been indicted 31 times. Shouldn't we wait 14 months at least before making this comparison? You know, to see what happens?

I keep thinking about #RealityWinner and #ChelseaManning. 2 heroic #whistleblowers who also leaked #classified documents, but for noble reasons. Neither of them got released on bail or OR while they awaited trial.

So why is Trump not in jail? He is an obvious flight risk (after all, he owns his own private plane!) and there is an ongoing risk that he will continue to leak classified information (even if he doesn't still have the paper documents).

I watched the HBO show “Reality” last night. It was basically a reenactment of a taped interview the FBI had with #realitywinner on the day they executed a search warrant on her.

I gotta ask; the FBI never gave Reality a Miranda warning or a chance to get counsel.
I kept screaming at the tv for her to refuse to talk & ask for a lawyer. The FBI repeatedly described the interview as “voluntary” though it was clear Reality felt under duress.
How was Reality Winner’s confession legal??

Oooh - I love a good whistleblower thriller. Reality Winner's story is woefully under-reported.
