Just had a shower realization. For context, I listened to British radio shows all the time as a kid, living in the US, because they were less blah. My entire life till today, at 21, I thought it was "quote-on-quote" because that's how it sounded when they'd say it. I only just realized, it's "quote-un-quote"

My Take-Away from today was a reminder that I possess a Novice-Level of experience in a lot of various technical fields, and by combining those low level skills with my prodigious ability to research things I am able to perform any repair or replacement job for a task that does not require highly specialized shop tools.
I know how to do basic carpentry, concrete work, electrical work, plumbing, and vehicle maintenance. Pouring driveways? Building fences? Installing ceiling fans? Changing spark plugs or replacing bad elbows on a car? I can do all those things, and even a little more.

Sure, there's a limit and I acknowledge a gap in both experience and tools. However, it's empowering to think that I can diagnose, repair, or replace and save hundreds on labor for basic things.
