I’ve talked before about seeing for the first time in the mid 1980s, on a big screen. I had never seen Grace Kelly before. She was a deceased princess to me. Her entrance remains the most impactful movie experience of my life.

To this day, the sets of amaze me, so close to real. Grace Kelly’s entrance is arguably the most beautiful a woman ever looked on film, and Thelma Ritter’s every word and glance delights. And the voyeur experience, it’s a miracle it got past the censors.

The first Hitchcock film I saw was , on the Granada Theater screen in the mid-1980s, when the rights disputes on it were resolved. I was transfixed from the first moment, and it remains my sentimental and usual critical favorite.
