I still love my Pebble watch & I’ll use it until the hardware dies. Finally took the plunge and joined Rebble.io today, was up and running in <30min!

My biggest glitch before this was that the watch time was slowing down; since the official app stopped working it had built up a ~7 minute lag. But now it’s back in sync, and I can also mess around with gratuitous watchfaces to satisfy my nerdy heart!

I had to reinstall the watch firmware from a #rebble app from a friend's phone on android, but I could connect to my #UbuntuTouch phone running rockwork (see https://open-store.io/app/rockwork.mzanetti ).

My #PebbleTimeSteel just works fine, I just have to re-install some watchfaces and apps then tadaa !

My ancient Pebble 1.0 is still running (long after Pebble itself alas). Today I finally got a weather watchface to connect—I had given up on dynamically updating place/weather data, but NOAA actually connected and I now have scudding clouds to show me signs of the impending storm in Erie. Someone sent me that picture of them using my Copland #pebble watchface -- I've been running it myself since the #rebble hackathon ended and it's surprisingly not that battery-intensive!

I'm quite fond of this watchface design -- Remade it last year in pixelart form as well.

As part of my ongoing effort to get away from big tech, I traded my Apple Watch for a #pebble time round using rebbel.io as the backend.

Better form factor, charges in 30 minutes and lasts for two days while still providing the features I use most - weather, media control, notifications, step counts, etc.

Pebble was really amazing, too bad it shut down, but we can thank the folks at #Rebble for reviving this amazing tech! #openSource #throwbackThursday #smallTech

Since switching to #Android I missed having a watch. I noticed I still needed notifications and music/podcast control. For health I'm using the Oura ring which is comfortable to sleep with and data is good.

So found out about #Rebble and took my OG #Pebble watch out of the drawer to use daily. It's about 10 years old and the battery still gets 3-4 days. The vibrate motor in this thing can wake up the dead! I forgot how loud it gets!
