Of all the #linux distros I tried installing on a 2014 #macmini, the only one that worked out of the box was #EndeavourOS. I am really digging #archlinux and the #cinnamon desktop manager!

I originally experimented with #steamos, #rebornos, #linuxmint, and a couple others I can’t remember and they all completely choked on the Broadcom chips.

Ho voluto anche vedere che distro #Linux mi consigliava #ChatGPT (rolling+KDE).
Mi ha proposto in ordine Manjaro - Fedora - openSUSE.

Interrogata su #RebornOS mi ha detto che andava bene, ricordandomi però che "è una distribuzione relativamente nuova e non è ancora ampiamente utilizzata o testata"

La risposta migliore però è quando gli ho fatto notare che erano risposte un po' ripetitive (vedi immagine)

A malincuore ho dovuto cedere e installare una distro #Arch-based😅

Ho provato varie distro che però non gestivano l'accelerazione grafica del mio PC, non si installavano, non facevano il boot o altre piccole pecche.

Ho provato: siduction, Redcore, Solus, Void, Kaos, Kubuntu, Fedora, FreeBSD, Clear Linux, SparkyLinux, OpenMandriva, Trisquel.

Quella che preferivo era Redcore, ma non mi sono fidato del tutto e alla fine ho dovuto arrendermi e installare #RebornOS che per ora sembra ok. Vediamo!

Browser + #Zero-K + mail client + Whalebird
All running clean on #RebornOS #linux on less than 5GB.
On Win10 even with only the #Zero-K interface open and nothing more that would be crossing the 5GB mark.
Also my Win10 install runs at 2.5 GB top upon boot
Meanwhile, only about 500 MB on #linux #XFCE

@Natanox Due to MATLAB I use Win10 quite a lot but as soon as I get SMath working fine on #RebornOS I'll work from #Linux also on my personal computer.
For personal use though it's Linux unless I need content on my Win10 installation.

So I just installed #RebornOS and so far it's great. Still having some trouble trying to compile #librewolf but I haven't lost any of the old home files. This has been a very good experience for me

#linuxtablet #linuxaudio Arch can be installed through the CLI, as well as through #archinstall. In addition, there are at least two additional independent installer projects. These all use vanilla Arch. Then there are the Arch family of distros. The ones that immediately catch my attention are: #endeavouros (what I currently use), #garuda, #rebornos, and #manjaro linux. These all benefit from the AUR and from being rolling releases. Most are highly configurable and benefit from the Arch wiki.
