Every year, to demonstrate an analysis, I use a brief in class of Furnham's (1986) exploration of the in jury , & every year Thomas Hoag is rated as guilty by students based purely on hearing (or reading) what he is accused of. This tells us:

1. some effects in do (sort of at least)!
2. if you end up in court, you are halfway to being found guilty!
3. if you are innocent, make sure there are definitely no students on the jury!
