#anime series that I watched this year (excluding shorts)
A Place Further than the Universe (#Yorimoi)
#NewGame s2
#RecordofGrancrestWar
#Halo Legends (started this a long time ago, finally finished it)
#WizardBarristers
Null & Peta (#NullPeta)
#MiamiGuns
#Regalia: the Three Sacred Stars
(in no particular order)
not the most productive year as far as clearing out my PTW, but still an interesting selection

Basically the only thing that I could say is similar between the two is that both contain violence and sexual content. Even there though, the differences are conspicuous: #MiamiGuns has endless amounts of gratuitous fanservice and comedic violence, while #RecordOfGrancrestWar contains relatively little fanservice despite having a story-relevant sex scene, and also frequently has bloody violence, even beheadings.
#miamiguns #recordofgrancrestwar
#RecordOfGrancrestWar, written by the same guy who wrote #RecordOfLodossWar, is a serious story of political intrigue in a fantasy setting. The storytelling is dense and I quite appreciated the "episode 11.5" recap episode that gave me a chance to re-process the story up til now and notice all the details and put things into their proper context in ways I hadn't previously understood.

Getting back into some #anime watching with #RecordOfGrancrestWar.
It's from the same writer as #RecordOfLodossWar, but while it is set in a #fantasy world, don't mistake it for a fantasy adventure. It's a story about #PoliticalIntrigue (and outright #war) between the various factions and military powers in the setting. There are people in high places with variously aligned and conflicting intentions and agendas.
Wikipedia says there's also an official #TabletopRPG made from this series.
