Me: Sorry, I don't have a CS (or related) degree.
Recruiter: Oh, that's not a hard requirement.
Me: Why is it listed under Requirements instead of Nice-To-Have?
Recruiter: ... When is a good time to talk?
Me: Oh, I'm also not interested in relocating, or your technology stack, or your business model, or your venture capital funding.
It is interesting to observe #recruiters responses as someone who has a #career that is half Game Development and half #Enterprise Software Engineering. When I apply for Enterprise jobs I'm told either "You don't have enough #experience." 🙄 or "You'll just go back to #Gamedev when something is available." (Fair point, it was my original career). When I apply for Gamedev jobs I get "You'll have more luck with Enterprise Java." or "You'll just leave the industry again."

If you're already blocking unsolicited emails from turing dot com, turing dot to, turing dot bz and other Turing domains, you'll want to add turing dot jp to your filters.
Turing, incidentally, are the clowns who claim to be “disrupting the traditional recruiting model for companies”. Blindly spamming everyone's business or LinkedIn addresses is certainly “disruptive”, but perhaps not in the way they imagine it is.

Somehow I’ve accumulated over 1,200 “connections” on #LinkedIn over the years. I cannot believe that I’ve either sent or accepted that many requests—it seems fishy. Regardless, it’s time to cull anyone that I haven’t specifically worked with and any #recruiters that didn’t actually land me a job.

Oh, the issue is that most companies have crappy challenges.
#Recruiters: programming challenges are not for you to test every aspect of a prospect's skills. If a take-home takes more than a couple hours, you're wasting everyone's time.
I did a take-home for my current employer. It took an hour and a half. It lead to a meaningful discussion of my skillset.
