Any #Hampshire based #recumbent or #velomobile riders seeing this?

I have been enjoying some of the lanes and cyclepaths on my #recumbentbike and plan to to do a nice long 50km+ ride today or tomorrow.

Would be amazing to have some company to attract more "Daddy what's wrong with his bike?" comments. :-)

I rolled my ankle and fractured my fibula yesterday, so don’t expect any #Boise River greenbelt reports for 3-6 weeks!

It was a freak #bike accident. My front tire slid out around a turn because it was almost flat and I hadn’t noticed. I have fallen this way on my #recumbent bike many times over the past 24 years with this bike, but never suffered any more than a little scrape and a bruised ego before now.

Oh well, it will heal.

What would be a good natural fiber fabric (or other option?) to replace the mesh on the back of this #recumbent #bike seat back? It's in really rough shape (worst damage not pictured). I need something that will retain it's shape, be comfortable on a warm day, and can handle getting wet in the rain. Lightweight would be nice too. Plant fibers only please. Maybe I can weave something out of thin cordage??

I ride two-wheel recumbents because they are fun. I don't have any chronic pain issues, and ride uprights as well. As a former rehab RN, I do find the trickle with wheelchair tech pretty wonderful. I've had my Vision recumbent for over twenty years.

On Friday, I had one of the slowest #recumbent rides on my usual loop this year. 2 hours. Today, the same loop took me 20 minutes less. What changed?
1. Switched from greased chain to waxed chain
2. Switched from 1 3/4 inch #Panaracer tires to 28mm #Schwalbe One tires
3. Switched from a (limited edition) pink #Knog bell to a (limited edition) pink #Spurcycle bell

Took a nice 35km ride on my #recumbent yesterday, down to Hamble (UK) where I refueled on a rather nice Cornish pastie (pictured) before riding home.

Regional trains in Germany are largely financed by the Länder, which means they make the rules what kind of bikes to allow or exclude. The VBB rules that exclude
- families with small children ( #cargobike)
- people with limited mobility ( #tandem, #recumbent, #trike)
were made on behalf of the SPD, CDU, Green parties that govern #Berlin and #Brandenburg

Yesterday we went on a relatively short bike ride so that we could include the Folly Art exhibition at a nearby village. The various different art pieces were spread over a ~8 km cycling / walking route.
This meant riding along a lot of narrow paths that we'd usually avoid.

Q: I've never ridden with anything but flat pedals. If I were to upgrade to something else - suitable for a beginner - roughly where should I start looking? What terms do I need to know?
Note: I ride a short-wheelbase recumbent.

Last segment of my Hadrian's Wall #recumbent bike ride complete. 4 days and only got soaked by rain once!

Day three of my #recumbent ride of Hadrian's Wall. Not too hilly today, plenty of sun and some great Roman forts to visit.
Recumbent still comfortable and turning heads and starting conversations. :-)
