I’ve been on-brand for a LONG time 🙃 This is my dog tag from when I was in the military over 20 years ago. Back then, SSNs were used for everything, even on sign-in sheets for activities like cleaning the barracks.

I worked in the HQ building and had access to our dog tag stamping machine. One advantageous day I used it to redact my SSN, and soon others asked me to do the same for them; it was a little underground privacy ring.

l wore it like this until leaving.
