On the first real day of birding, there was a #YellowWarbler being very photogenic, as well as a #SpottedTowhee looking fabulous and a male #DownyWoodpecker checking out some #RedBreastedSapsucker holes in a tree.

My second encounter with a Red-breasted Sapsucker! Here we can get a good look at some of the holes it's drilled into the bark, which it will return to periodically, to feed on the sap that oozes out as well as any bugs attracted by that same sap
