Sketching people on the internet. In the second image, I accidentally smeared some red paint on my sketchbook, but in a lucky spot, which kinda makes it tell a little story now. (Though if you know where the horse image came from, it's maybe an ugly story. Not my intent, but I'll put it behind a cw, anyway. )

This one was a departure from the usual approach. My typical underpainting technique is to just get the bare bones of structure in place; this time, I used this stage to go into shading and rendering finer details. I hope you like it.

It’s the end of a pretty long, hard day, so I thought I’d share A portrait from a while back…. I remember thinking how interesting/pretty/lovely the slightly open lips/ mouth in 3/4 view was in the reference and that was my focus… idk I really like this one I can’t put my finger on it. Maybe because I was having fun and not over thinking it.

CW: maudlin Clown makeup.

While I was painting today I remembered I once had a wind-up animatronic clown doll. While the music played ( I shit you not) the face and head rotated/rolled on its neck while maintaining eye contact. It was adorable to me. So, i’m going to err on the side of caution and do a CW on this painting.
