After all the issues with Reddit I thought I would try out Lemmy. It is a shame though how quiet it is there. Many of the communities only have a handful of members. Some of the programming communities look promising though.

Weirdly enough... #redditMigration pushed me to #kbin first, then #lemmy due to the availability of apps (I find them more convenient), then got me curious enough to explore #mastodon (been loving it.. learned a lot of interesting things here).

At the same time, the #privacy news about #smartcars and #cars in general, #googlechrome privacy concerns, etc. Have made me re-acknowledge the privacy risks of smart tvs. #raspberrypizero #dongle with #PlasmaBigscreen would be cool.

Gotta say, I'm really enjoying the Alternative Nation community on lemmy.world. It's very active and people have great taste.

Todas las migraciones al #fediverso funcionan igual, como una botella de cava que se descorcha, sale con mucha espuma y luego queda poco en la botella.
Tras la #redditmigration a #lemmy quedan menos de la mitad de usuarios que probaron la experiencia.
Y eso que ya hay 2 millones de publicaciones (muchos subreddits migraron a lemmy y están igual de activos) y han doblado la cantidad en 23 días.
Pero sigue siendo incomparable con los números de Reddit, que cada día debe tener unos 50 millones de usuarios diarios, pero en creación de contenido no están tan alejados (11M de posts al mes en Reddit).

De todas formas sigue siendo muy interesante ver cómo evoluciona este movimiento, yo creo que no hay vuelta atrás, mucha gente ha visto lo que no le gusta y que hay alternativas (con menos oferta por ahora).

Since last November I deleted Twitter and early this spring I let go of Reddit too. So, I missed the story posts on Reddit but thankfully Bored Panda came to my rescue when scrolling aimlessly in bed after waking up.
