Mildred Bailey (born Mildred Rinker; February 27, 1903 – December 12, 1951) was a Indian American (Coeur de Alene) jazz singer during the 1930s, known as "The Queen of Swing". She worked with #PaulWhiteman, later married #RedNorvo.
She suffered from diabetes & believed that it was her weight that kept her from being a star like her friend #BillieHoliday.
It's so Peaceful in The Country is my favorite #MildredBailey song: https://youtu.be/JSvqkzhnUe0
