I'm using the "Too Good to Go" app to buy day old pastries and end-of-night pizza from quick service restaurants. The servings are super big and it's pretty cheap on the whole. Going to try using it for discarded veges due to blemishes (but still great/edible, just won't sell well in groceries). #reducefoodwaste

Today I found コクゾウムシ「kokuzoumushi」(rice weevil in English) in my rice and experienced yet another reason to not take the United State's approach to food/health as undeniable truth.

In the United States, the advice is throw out the "contaminated" grain, vacuum, and spray your kitchen with pesticide.

The Japanese and Singaporean advice: Wash the rice well and eat it quickly. Don't worry about consuming the bugs, they are not harmful.

Freezer content inventoried! We have bacon and sausages that I had forgotten about but still looks okay. Also discovered a peach crumble made with last year’s harvest. We downloaded an app to try and help reduce waste and keep up on freezer contents.
