Today we visited #Tewkesbury and witnessed the fabulously #reenacted and hilariously commentated #BattleOfTewkesbury - it was pretty fabulous to behold, actually. ⚔️

I have much admiration for everyone who partook as #reenactors and vendors around the festival grounds. 🛡️ What a day! I love the detail that goes into events like these.

Nach langer Pause wollen wir dieses Jahr mal wieder zu lagern, also müssen die Klamotten fit gemacht werden. Als ich das genäht habe wog ich (als Heranwachsender) fast 20kg weniger. Durch heraustrennen des Innenfutters, auslassen aller vertikalen Nähte und austauschen der Knopfreihe durch eine Schnürung konnte ich das Teil aber retten :D Es ist zwar historisch nicht so korrekt wie ich es heute gerne machen würde, aber etwas neues nähen ist momentan nicht realistisch...

Film of the day: SOLDADO NOBRE (SOLDIER NOBRE, dir Jorge Vaz Gomes, 2022) Scattershot attempt at a personal documentary about an ancestor whose place in history has been obscured; there are ideas throughout but they’re sketched thinly more than fully-fledged, and the end result seems self-defeating.

Zaterdag en zondag waren we gezellig in het Prehistorisch Dorp in Eindhoven voor Foodfest. Zondag 1600 bezoekers en zonnig weer. En naast Romeinen (wij) nog talloze andere tijdvakken met lekker eten.

Vandaag is er ook nog Foodfest daar. Dus ga eens niet naar de meubelboulevard, maar lekker naar Eindhoven! Tradities zijn er om te breken! 😉
