@bob ...and mail server best practises can be automated. Efforts like #freedombone that make self hosting email and other services more accessible are important to the health of the Internet.

Email his in a very sick state as Google has ruined its originally federated nature. It needs #refederation even more than the web!

@fillertrack I was like "hey yeah" but then I realised that means GOVERNMENT would run it and we'd get fibre but it would be dark and thus useless, and the commander in chief of the Internet of 'murica would be a big orange troll...

The 'net needs #refederation just not sure how to get there. It was really intended to be millions of interconnected user cooperatives but devolved back to the days of online oligopolies.

The WWW is dying, but it isn't too late to save it. Think twice before placing trust and reliance in any service or product provided by The Five Silos (Alphabet, Amazon, Apple, Facebook and Microsoft). Promote #refederation however you can.
