Look, if functioning as a person requires your brain to believe it's got #freeWill then whether the universe is #deterministic or not is academic.

I don't think you can properly function as an automaton. Free will is baked in at a very basic level. You can *believe* you have no free will, but you cannot *behave* that way.

Thanks to my #Reformed upbringing for making me think about this shit before the simulation theory jackasses started popping up everywhere.

Lots of talk about the noetic effect of sin in #Reformed circles but very little talk of the noetic effects of #SolaScriptura.

Turns out when everything has to come in a straight line from the book, you can't/won't understand how the traditions that interpret the book are constructed, and what that construction was for.

There's this tendency among Reformed folk to just assume their tradition is the sola scriptura one, any evidence to the contrary be damned.

I love Biblical truth and particularly enjoy reading books by dead theologians (and some living ones.)

Big weekend for the stovetop! 10 gallons of apricots put up, including a gallon of jam and 2 gallons of secret elixir, a pot of Whipple Beans, courtesy @ranchogordo, and a fresh batch of homemade enchilada sauce from the dried chilis. Can't live without my enchilada sauce, so cannot explain the first 30 years of my life to the contrary!
