I was 11 and it was the first "girl boy party" for most of us (evening, mixed gender, as opposed to girls having a Saturday afternoon birthday party... so this was A Big Deal).

My main memory is DANCING TO JOE CUBA'S BANG BANG. In 1966 radio was still decentalized enough for there to be #RegionalHits and in 1966 in #NYC #BangBang was HOT!!!! #JoeCuba #boogaloo #PartyTime
