Alanna Tomazin was named Young Journalist of the Year and Cathy Adams at the Lismore City News took out the Gold award.

Rosie Bensley is Trainee of the Year.

Proud of these legends and proud of the work they do for their communities.

Tonight I’m MC-ing a regional journalism awards ceremony. And I am very *excited* because
a) regional and local journalism is bloody important
b) regional journalism gets overlooked for industry awards like the Walkleys
c) I bought a frock for the first time in … lots of years

Sure, they are internal awards. But I get to help celebrate the work of people who keep their communities informed every day.
