The grave of Flying Officer Jacob Maurice Grant at the #ReichswaldForest War Cemetery in NW #Germany. What caught my attention was the star of David (there is an anti-semitic trope that Jews foment the wars that Christians have to fight), and his #DFC (a high award for gallantry).

At the time of his death, F/O Grant was flying with 617 Sqdn ("The #Dambusters"). He and his comrades were killed during Operation Garlic, a failed attempt to breach the strategic Dortmund-Ems Canal.
