Well, #reinvent22 is showing there is a gap now, a perceivable one, between #microsoft and #aws.

Last year I felt that the amount of services around infrastructure as code, ML and proper analyst services for movers and shakers was starting to mature.

This year AWS have listened.

And that's why they can innovate faster than anyone else.

Governance? People don't want to hear about governance, but they can get behind data discovery, data quality, data access, and data security. Get with your Data Analysts, and they will tell me just give me access. Well, with the newly announced Amazon Datazone, you can stop talking about governance, and instead improve the usability of data for your analysts.

So far keynote has been somewhat predictable if not old. Sustainability, Moving Critical Workloads to the Cloud (NASDAQ), and all the benefits of cloud...Agility, Elasticity, Cost. Does anybody still need to be convinced? It could be best summed up as "Be Prepared for Anything" (which I like).

Settling in to watch Adam's Keynote at the Wynn. I think AWS should live stream all breakout sessions to attendees via twitch! This allows us to focus on content when we want, and then get out and socialize and network when we want. very Customer Focused.

Wow! Firecracker Snapshots virtually eliminate the Cold Start issue on Lambda calls. Peter announces Lambda SnapStart. He also answered a question in the back of my mind with all these "improvements" will there be an increased cost? In the case of Lambda SnapStart, the answer is no. Great to hear! Hmm what about C#? Yes, I said it.

The Monday Night Live keynote is focusing heavily on hardware-based improvements to calculations of modern-day computing challenges such as HPC or ML models. Models like Stable Diffusion or GPT-3 require a lot of training time to reach convergence.
New techniques are being built into hardware and computing architectures to improve training of these ever-increasing models. This could be a competitive advantage AWS has over competing clouds

My first workshop done! BIS205 - Build Stunning Customized Dashboards with Amazon Quicksight. All in all a good non-technical session, although went kind of fast at the beginning, tough if you've never used it before. A suggestion would be to talk out loud specifically what selections are being done so I don't have to look up at the screen. Thanks to the helpers in the room. And speakers Rubash Vora and Vinay Chopra.
