"Once in a Lifetime" is a song by the American #newWave band #TalkingHeads, produced and cowritten by #BrianEno. It was released in January 1981 as the lead single from Talking Heads' fourth studio album, #RemainInLight (1980), through #SireRecords. Eno and Talking Heads developed "Once in a Lifetime" through extensive #jams, inspired by #Afrobeat musicians such as #FelaKuti. #DavidByrne's vocals were inspired by preachers delivering sermons.

Very weird. Every song on this album feels faster than I remember it.

I had it on cassette (which may well have been recorded at the wrong speed), and on #vinyl LP. I don't think I ever owned it on CD.

Right now I'm listening to it streamed from #qobuz, I can't imagine they would mess with it.

I just think my memory of it is wrong... or maybe that original cassette I had was slow. Weird.
