Earlier this summer I attended my first #RenaissanceFaire and I made my own #wizard #costume for it: one of my partner's friends is into sewing and #cosplay and she taught us the whole process, from picking out materials to cutting out the pattern, ironing on the interfacing and running it thru a sewing machine.

I took a few pics of my costume today as some of you were asking to see it before. 😄

Went to the #RenaissanceFaire for the first time today. A few things:

- first outing since #eggcracking and brain was a mess 🧠 💫
- WAY more #lgbtqia representation than I was expecting, which is probably due to my own ignorance, but totally makes sense and was exciting to see 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️
- SO MANY AWESOME COSTUMES 🧐
- Jaques Ze Whipper 🤌
- jousting was fun to watch 🙂

My husband went to a Renaissance faire this weekend. He knows that two things I love are small boxes and bees, so he got me a lovely wooden box with a bee etched/carved into the top. I'm not sure what I'm going to put into it yet, it's pretty small, only a couple of inches big.

This is Wee Morgan. Back in the day when I was very involved in Renaissance Faire, I decided to make a tiny version of my character, Morgan MacLeod. Wee Morgan wears a tiny version of my Faire garb, made from the same fabrics. (Though I carried a dagger, not a Morningstar; a little artistic license is acceptable.) Her hair is made from some of my handspun yarn.

Last #sewing project for Halloween/Renaissance Faire. Decided to go with the cloak Frodo wears in The Fellowship because I love the closure. My favorite part is the #batik scarf I loosely serged with sparkly thread. As much as I love capturing/recreating as many details of a costume, I enjoy adding my own twists.

Last year, Jessi and I bought this concrete dragon at the #RenaissanceFaire. We named him Angus.

I had to drive back to pick Angus up from the vendor. So while Jessi was at work, I sent her pictures of Angus hanging out around the house, reading a book, and also getting in trouble for drinking from the toilet and getting on the kitchen counter. 😄
