Dolor intenso, inflamación y enrojecimiento de la piel es lo que provoca una picadura de avispa común. Sin embargo, la reacción se intensifica cuando se trata de la de la avispa asiática, cuyo pinchazo es similar al de un gran alfiler, causa un dolor agudo, y posteriormente un fuerte escozor, parecido a una quemadura.
