So does anyone have any to recommend? Preferabley in later versions with the self-voicing feature enabled by default, as I'm completely and using a screen reader. I'm 50 50 on visual novels right now; I adored Arcade Spirits, and loathed Doki Doki Literature Club. Those are the only two games I've ever played in my life, so the field is wide open. anyone?

Spent a lot of time trying to come up with a way to do add-ons in . loads scripts automatically, which is great, but what about new chapters? And cosmetics, and characters?

Long story short, add-ons can add labels to an array that is stepped through before a new game. And they have a way to add entries when selecting what story to start.

Cosmetics can be added mid-save without breaking, too. That was probably the hardest part.

Everytime I try to install a from itchio, following all instructions, I get crashes at the code... why is that😭I'm surely doing something wrong, do you have any suggestions?
(I'd love to make custom GUIs from scratch but mine are not that good atm)

You are playing as chronically ill person with slight shortsightedness, who has experienced mental health difficulties in the past. You are trying to find a way to connect with the outside world, while staying safe at the same time.
The game's protagonist, @CautiousCauliflower, is loosely based on the author of the game (me:)).
Content warning: The protagonist exhibits some patterns of thinking that might be a little bit too familiar to people with anxiety disorders or trauma.
