@RAHU My daughter and son-in-law recently viewed an apartment for sale in Ringwood (Eastern suburbs Melbourne). The sale price was too good to be true and transpires it had dodgy flammable cladding and the  balconies on the 2 floors directly above their garden, were in risk of falling off pretty much at any time... Their solicitor strongly advised against buying. Of course.

But then theres nothing to stop a loaded-up cash buyer just snapping up a deal and renting out an unsafe overpriced property to unsuspecting tenants?

We have to have RWC to sell cars.
We need Safe To Occupy Certificates for homes. Don't we?
