Is there a solution to load a env for a single buffer from an arbitrary file?

I'd like to be able to define an environment for a specific file (within , so in a flat file structure), which would (ideally) tangle a `shell.nix` to the `org-attach-id-dir`, and be loaded into the buffer with some elisp code.

I'd use this, e.g., for taking notes on programming languages and packages. But being able to define a run environment within , esp for , sounds quite generally useful though.

The basics seem to be in `nix-buffer`, `emacs-direnv` and `envrc.el`, but they all seem to require a directory-specific environment rather than an arbitrary nix file.

This article sets a high bar with guidelines to achieve reproducible science. Most colleagues would not (or could not) meet it. It is unrealistically complicated. Why not just produce well documented, properly formatted, and web-accessible data for every study? Other researchers will use their own methods & code to validate findings using the data. Requirements to publish functioning code creates a barrier to open science.

I wonder how many of the emails sent out today requesting access to "Data available on request" data will be returned? Not too hopeful and may have to do lots of sensitivity analysis on simulated data from reported means, medians, IQRs, SDs and ranges using different distributions. 🙄
